Antibacterials

HOP CO2-EXTRACT

High concentration of humulones/lupulones. These components have bactericidal efficacy. Hop CO2-extract is preferably used as natural deodorising and antimicrobial ingredient in cosmetic formulations.

ST. JOHN'S WORT CO2-EXTRACT

High concentration of hyperforin,which has anti-inflammatory properties and inhibits growth of Staphylococcus,related to acne and neurodermatitis. This extract contains no hypericin known for its photosensibilising properties.

USNEA LICHEN CO2-EXTRACT, WATER DISPERSIBLE, 4% USNIC ACID

This water dispersible product is standardized on usnic acid. It has approved growth inhibition on various germs. Recommended dosage of 0.2-0.6% should be adjusted to requirements of individual cosmetic formulation.

Antioxidants

ROSEMARY & SAGE ANTIOXIDANTS

The products are standardized on the antioxidative diterpene phenols. The diterpene phenols are stabilizing fatty oils, carotenoids and essential oils, retarding oxidative degradation. Diterpene phenols are binding also free radicals generated by ozone and environmental stress and thus preventing skin aging. The Rosemary AO has in addition antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory efficacy.

Bioactives & Natural Fatty Oils

AMARANTH CO2-EXTRACT

is a fatty oil with a high linoleic acid (Omega-6) content and furthermore a valuable source of squalene (> 5%), interesting for cosmetic products and dietary supplements.

ARNICA FLOWER CO2-EXTRACT

This product is manufactured from low helenalin Arnica Montana. It is standardised on 4% sesquiterpene lactones with sunflower oil. The product is used for topical treatment of inflammations, treatment of wounds and eczema.

CHAMOMILE FLOWER CO2-EXTRACT

This CO2-extract is manufactured from Chamomile Flowers of German origin with a favourable bisabolol/bisabololoxide-ratio and a high concentration of matricine.
During the CO2-extraction process the matricine is widely preserved and no decomposition to the less bioactive chamazulene takes place.

MARIGOLD FLOWER CO2-EXTRACT

This extract is characterised by a high concentration of faradiol esters, which are responsible for the anti-inflammatory activity of Marigold.

MILLET SEED CO2-TO-EXTRACT

This fatty oil contains >60% linoleic acid and >1% miliacin. It can be used internally in food supplements as well as topically in cosmetics and dermatological formulations. The product increases cell metabolism, stimulates cell proliferation and tissue regeneration and supports hair growth. It activates skin repair mechanisms and has anti-inflammatory property. It is wound healing and positive effects are reported in case of topic ulcers, decubitus and purulent skin conditions.

POMEGRANATE SEED CO2-EXTRACT

is especially rich in puninic acid, a Conjugated Linolenic Acid CLnA. In cosmetic products the oil helps repair und rejuvenate the skin. It is recommended for dry, sensitive and damaged skin, improving skin elasticity, reducing wrinkles and preventing premature skin aging.

RHATANY ROOT CO2-EXTRACT

The bioactive components are UV-absorbing neo- and norneolignans. The extract is standardised with MCT-oil and has a specific extinction of at least 20 cm2/mg in the complete UV-B range. Thus an even protection over the whole erythema active band of radiation is guaranteed whereas the pigmenting part of the light is passing in part. The antioxidative efficacy of lignans reduces at the same time the formation of toxic lipid peroxides in cells.

SAGE CO2-TO-EXTRACT 5% OLEANOLIC/URSOLIC ACID

This product is standardized on the triperpene acids oleanolic and ursolic acid, contains >20% antioxidative phenolic diterpenes and < 5% essential oil. The collagen fibre bundle structure which has been damaged by UVB-radiation can be restored by topical application of these triterpene acids. This leads to the improvement of skin elasticity and the reduction of wrinkles. This product has also antioxidative and anti-inflammatory efficacy.

SCHISANDRA FRUIT CO2-EXTRACT

Schisandra Sphenanthera extract with lipophilic anti-allergenic dibenzo[a,c]cyclooctadiane lignans shows antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory and photoprotective efficacy in different bioassays.

Colour

GROMWELL ROOT CO2-EXTRACT

The product contains red coloured alkannin, shikonin, acetylalkannin and acetylshikonin, a relatively high content of sterols and it is standardised with jojoba oil. The product is used for colouring cosmetics products. The alkannins are soluble in oil and have a stable deep red, in alkaline environment bluemagenta colour. Furthermore the alkannins have skin caring, wound healing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungicide and antioxidative properties.

Essential Oils & Fragrance Compounds

FLAVEX produces a comprehensive range of CO2-extracted herb & spice essential oils with authentic fine fragrance. Myrrh, Sage and other selective extracts improve the quality of tooth pastes, mouthwash, bath products and massage fluids.
