Environmental Pact Saar

The environment minister of the Saarland Dr. Simone Peter has affiliated on 16th August 2011 FLAVEX Naturextrakte GmbH in Environmental Pact Saar.

FLAVEX Naturextrakte GmbH was given the award for the efforts for its energy-efficient production by the ministery of environment of our federal state. The successful concept was acknowledged by the affiliation to the local environmental pact (Umweltpakt Saar).(The picture shows the minister (right) during the award ceremony.)

On the account of cost effective production but mainly to fullfill the own ecological demand FLAVEX has done a considerable investment in energy-efficient production.
The heating of the buildings and also the heating of water for domestic use is done with water/water- heatpumps. The energy comes from the cooling water of our extraction plants. With the heat pumps this process water is cooled and on the other side the hot water is used for heating. This technology has double benefit, the cooling system of the extraction plants is discharged. Electric energy for cooling purposes is saved. And on the other hand more than 100 tons of CO2 per year are not generated while burning of fossil fuels for heating the buildings.
