Supercritical Wheat Bran Extract (organic) – Product code 180.003

Wheat bran has about 3,5% of lipids. The supercritical wheat bran extract is mainly interesting because of the content of 2,5% phytosterols, 0,3% tocopherols, 0,3% tocotrienols and the presence of alkylresorcinols which all make part of the unsaponifiable constituents.

Besides that the supercritical oil contains many unsaturated fatty acids. The product is gluten free.

Phytosterols have moisturising, nourishing and soothing property, help maintain proper skin barrier function, encourage cell division and collagen synthesis, act as emollient and prevent transepidermal water loss already in small amount.

Alkylresorcinols are described to inhibit subcutaneous fat tissue formation which makes them useful in anti-cellulite applications. Taken together with the valuable oil components and antioxidants, wheat bran extract is recommended for sensitive and stressed skin, for face creams, body care and hair care products. It has equilibrating and anti-itching properties, supports cell regeneration and contributes to UV-protection.
