Garlic CO2-to extract (organic), D/E = 50:1, DE-ÖKO-013
Allium sativum – garlic cloves paste, from organic farming
By supercritical fluid extraction of fine grated fresh garlic with natural carbon dioxide. Therefore no solvent residues, no inorganic salts, no heavy metals, no reproducible microorganisms . The extract is standardized with olive oil (organic) on a constant drug/extract-ratio of 50/1.
The extract contains 3 – 6 % essential oil with diallyl disulfide, diallyl trisulfide, methyl allyl disulfide, vinyldithiine, ajoene, allicin and other sulphur-containing compounds.
Garlic has an antibacterial, antimycotic and lipid-lowering effect. In traditional herbal medicine, garlic is therefore used in herbal medicines to prevent age-related vasodilatation. Garlic is also widely used in folk medicine, e.g. for arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, colds, coughs, bronchitis and diseases of the gastrointestinal tract .*
Due to its typical aroma, the extract is suitable for flavouring or seasoning all kinds of food.*
The garlic extract contains secondary plant substances such as sulfides and allicin. Many secondary plant substances are attributed health-promoting properties. The extract is therefore also suitable for use in food supplements.*
