The thymol contained in the extract has antiseptic and antimicrobial effects [2,3]. Externally, thyme is used for its antibacterial properties in inflammation of the mouth and throat, inflammatory skin changes, to relieve itching, bruising and dislocation [2,4].*\r\n\r\nThyme extract is suitable as a spice extract for flavouring food, such as Mediterranean dishes, sauces, baked goods.
