Studies also show that the extract has anti-inflammatory and photoprotective properties [3].*\r\n\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\nAccording to our current knowledge, only the variety Chinensis is not a novel food in food supplements. We are not aware of any use of the variety Sphenanthera in the EU before 15.05.1997. Therefore we recommend the use of the extract in the EU only for cosmetic products.*\r\n\r\nDue to its anti-inflammatory properties, Schisandra sphenanthera extract is suitable in cosmetic products for sensitive and stressed skin.
