Utilisation:
In folk medicine, cardamom is used for gastrointestinal complaints and loss of appetite due to its digestive properties [2].*
Cardamom extract gives food and drink a fresh, fruity, spicy and hot taste. It is often used as a flavouring in sweets, liqueurs, rice and meat dishes and other dishes.*
Because of its positive effects on the formation of gastric juices, cardamom is also suitable in food supplements [2].*
The CO2-extracted essential oil from cardamom fruits has an intensely sweet aromatic-resinous and slightly spicy fragrance, so it can be used in perfumes with an oriental note. Due to its antimicrobial effect it is also suitable for the preservation of cosmetic products [3].*
